What to Expect in In-Person Therapy

At Aspire Counseling Group, we want you to feel comfortable from the moment you walk through our doors. Choosing therapy is a big step, and knowing what to expect can make the process feel a little easier.

    Your First Visit

    • Welcoming Environment: You’ll be greeted in a calm, supportive space designed to help you feel at ease.

    • Paperwork & Logistics: We’ll review any forms, insurance, or payment details together to keep things simple and stress-free.

    • Getting to Know You: Your therapist will spend time learning about your goals, history, and what brought you to counseling.

    During Ongoing Sessions

    • Comfortable & Private Space: Sessions take place in a confidential office setting where you can openly share your thoughts and feelings.

    • Collaborative Conversation: Therapy is a dialogue—not a lecture. You and your therapist will work together to explore challenges, identify strengths, and practice strategies that fit your life.

    • Consistency & Growth: Regular sessions provide structure and support as you move toward meaningful change at your own pace.

    The Experience

In-person therapy offers the benefit of face-to-face connection, a safe environment away from daily distractions, and the grounding experience of sitting with someone who is fully present with you.

  • Individual sessions from $80-$200 per hour.

Couples sessions are $200 per hour.

We accept most major insurances including:

Aetna, Anthem, CareFirst, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cardinal Care, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna/Evernorth, Humana, Kaiser, Medicaid, Medicare, Optum, United Healthcare, VA Community Care Network (CCN).

  • Your First Appointment: What to Expect

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming—we’re here to make it easier. At Aspire Counseling Group, your first session is all about creating a safe, supportive foundation.

    Before You Arrive

    • You’ll complete intake paperwork and provide any insurance information.

    • We’ll guide you through the process so everything feels clear and simple.

    During Your Session

    • Getting to Know You: Your therapist will ask about your goals, history, and what brought you to counseling.

    • Collaborative Conversation: Together, you’ll begin identifying areas you’d like to focus on and explore what’s most important to you.

    • No Pressure: There are no “right” or “wrong” things to share—this time is for you.

    After Your First Visit

    • You and your therapist will discuss next steps, including how often to meet and what your journey might look like moving forward.

    • The goal of the first appointment is simple: to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported as you begin your path toward growth and healing.

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all answer—everyone’s journey in therapy is unique. The length of therapy depends on your personal goals, the challenges you’re facing, and the pace that feels right for you.

    What to Expect

    • Short-Term Therapy: Some clients come in with a specific concern and may find meaningful progress in just a few sessions.

    • Longer-Term Therapy: Others choose to continue therapy for several months or longer as they explore deeper patterns, build new skills, or navigate life changes.

    • Your Pace: You and your therapist will check in regularly about your goals and progress, so you always feel empowered in deciding how long therapy is right for you.

    Our Belief

Therapy isn’t about “forever”—it’s about supporting you for as long as you find it helpful. Whether that’s weeks, months, or beyond, Aspire Counseling Group is here to walk alongside you.

  • Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explains the expected costs of your therapy services. Under the federal No Surprises Act, health care providers are required to give clients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the cost of services before care begins.

    What This Means for You

    • Transparency: You’ll receive a written estimate of the fees you can expect to pay for therapy sessions.

    • No Surprise Bills: The goal is to help you plan ahead financially and avoid unexpected costs.

    • Your Rights: If your bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge.

    Our Commitment

At Aspire Counseling Group, we believe mental health care should feel safe—not stressful. We provide clear information about session fees and will walk you through your Good Faith Estimate so you feel confident about the financial side of your care.
